For New Year's we went to see King Kong, which is in my opinion one of the saddest movies EVER. It is an amazing film, though, and I like the hidden message in there. Rather than depicting Kong as the monster he was in the original film, he is, in this one, just an oversized gorilla. The real monsters of this story are the humans, which in reality is very true. Animals are so mistreated and looked down upon by humans, when really we are equal-- we are animals too, after all. We're just more intelligent. That doesn't make us better. Kong was just misunderstood, and if people took the time to learn more about animals rather than jumping to conclusions then perhaps we wouldn't have so many severly endangered or already extinct animals. Yes, I'm ranting, but this journal is a wonderful place to get it off my chest.
And in other news... it's my birthday on the 4th! I'll be 14. Yay. I'm having a lazer tag party, which is always fun. We'll probably have my friends against my sisters, and maybe I'll drag Dad along just to embarass him. Besides, the birthday girl's team always wins. Haha.
Have a great new year, everybody.
